about

This came from a time when bands would release cassettes and bring reel-to-reel versions of their latest songs to local radio stations. Saw Ya could be heard on Boston radio throughout the spring and summer of 1990. The song helped give the band a bigger following and showed that even smarmy wiseacres can come up with a catchy number every once in a while. The Boston Herald said about the tape, "Bulkhead's forte is writing urgent and imaginative rock songs. The quartet's moody lashing music is fueled by a Mission of Burma-esque guitar swirl and aggressive bass work. "Saw Ya" is a killer, lending credence to the idea that Bulkhead sounds like a cross between Mission of Burma and the Pixies".
